Okay, am I the only one who didn't know JK Rowling had a new book coming out... apparently so...
Anyways since I finally dug my head out of the sand and climbed up from under the rock which I've been living under...
Here is the cover and blurb for said new book: Sounds a bit more serious than the Potter series but I suppose she does want to break away from that and also, what are the odds of her happening upon something as massively successful as her Potter series? This may prove to be just mediocre as far as storytelling goes but that fact remains to be seen since the woman does seem to have a way with words. I for one will read it just because of who the author is and I'm sure many others will as well. This says alot about Joanne's success and the trust we all put in her abilities.

The Casual Vacancy

rating stars: 4.40 · rating details · 95 ratings · 288 reviews
When Barry Fairbrother dies in his early forties, the town of Pagford is left in shock.
Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war.
Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils...Pagford is not what it first seems.
And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?
The Casual Vacancy is J.K. Rowling’s first novel for adults.
As you can see, the book is already going to premiere with rave reviews and high expectations. I have a feeling that far more is expected of this book than what Rowling might be capable of delivering. She might want to rethink her hesitancy at being a one trick pony and return to her beloved Harry Potter world after all... <3
