Plot Bunny Attack
So... this plot bunny came up to me and bit me in the ankle, and it's still hanging on, so I want to offer it to the wider world, and hopefully get more than one story (any pairing, any rating, any length) in return. Here's the bunny:Tradition calls for witches and wizards who have never married/partnered to perform a certain ritual when they attain the age of fifty. This ritual will reveal their optimal partner. The result is reciprocal (each person will get the other as a result), but not exclusive (the partner revealed by the ritual might be/fall in love with a third party). The result is not obvious in any way to anyone but the celebrant (no magical bonds are created, no flashing lights, etc.). What happens when your favorite character performs the ritual?
