When Amelia was a little girl, a neighbor used to call her 'the lovely Bones girl.' Amelia loved that - it made her feel pretty and well-mannered, and she strove to do justice to the appellation.
During the awkward years of adolescence, her brother Edgar used to tease Amelia affectionately, calling her 'the lovely bony girl.'
The brutal death of most of her family transformed Amelia into a stern, square-jawed woman, who wouldn't be considered 'lovely' by anyone. She became just Amelia Bones.
Surrounded by Death Eaters, knowing her end was near, Amelia thought sadly that soon she'd be just - bones.
