It got as high as 63 degrees in or around Providence this afternoon. My mother said it was as high as 70 in and around Hartford.
And it's January 6th.
I like this!!
We have not had any snow yet this winter, maybe some flurries last week, but that's about it. I'm liking this because I am not a huge fan of snow.. especially driving in it. It's pretty to look at provided I don't have to go out in it. Nothing beats cuddling up on the sofa in the living room with a cup of hot cocoa watching the snow fall outside. Instant turn-on... but digging out your car and scraping off ice.. not so much!
And as it stands, with regards to my parking situation, I'd rather there not be any snow because once it snows, the city throws a parking ban restricting parking to the side of the street opposite the fire hydrants.. and let me tell you, my neighbors get downright nasty with securing a parking space within a close distance to their front doors. Last year I managed to find a tight spot about two blocks from my house.. I did not like the walk in the snow, nor the art of removing the frozen mass off my windshield.
On a separate note, my parents are visiting me tomorrow. First they said they want to go to Providence to see where it is I am now working... that's fine I thought. I could also take them over to Johnny Rockets on Thayer Street since that's the sort of thing my parents would like to do for a light lunch or what have you. Then my mother said something about how my father has been ranting and raving about the hamburger he had at Aidan's in Bristol when they came up for my college graduation two years ago.. So, now we're going to Bristol for lunch.. that's fine also. I think I might save them the trip to Providence until after we move... wherever it is that we move to will be closer to Providence anyways.
I think I will take them to Newport to see the Breakers.. then head over to Bristol for lunch. That seems fine to me.
We'll see what happens!
