Dreariness

It's Wednesday. Hump Day. Rainy Day. Dreary Day.

Bah.

It's pouring outside. The sound of the rain is amplified throughout the store with the metal roof above. My "To-Do" list for today has been completed. I wrote thank you notes, cleaned my desk, created customer cards, answered questions from semi-irrate customers, entertained the administrative assistant.. yeah.. that's work for today.

We've had two people in all day. It's 4:35 PM. This sucks. I blame the rain.

Tomorrow, it's my long day. Ugh. So I am gearing up for some more phone calls to customers, perhaps doing a few things on the floor to make the store more appealing?

I also did some more job hunting today. Mostly online and a few phone calls. I printed out an application for Crate & Barrel in Providence... they're looking for a department manager. Hmm.

I have errands to run, but can be pushed back.

I am glad the casino vote failed yesterday with the elections. Rhode Island does not need a casino, they can be a bit more creative in luring in business than to sink into the gambling bug. It will only bring in trouble and lots of congestion to that part of the state. Look at the area around the two CT casinos... once forest now raped with commercial development everywhere... so sad.

I am upset that the state turned down the $4 million project to restore the officer's quarters at Fort Adams. The landmark needs the funding badly... they must try again next year. Beautiful structure, amazing history, much needed funding to preserve it for another lifetime.

I'm done. More work to do.

Happy Wednesday everyone!
