I'm not staying in London, but I have stayed at the Liverpool St Travelodge, and it is a nice, comfortable, basic hotel. However one side of the hotel is really noisy at night. I recommend you phone them and ask for a room on the quiet side - I think this is their direct number (I googled, so apologies if it's out of date)

Their buffet breakfasts are really good value for money if you have a good appetite in the morning! We used to eat a large meal at breakfast and then skip lunch sometimes.

Yeah, I live about an hour from Liverpool St. I don't know which day i am coming, yet, but will wait to hear what's planned :)
