The Universe gave me a hard nudge.

With my SF 4-day vacation coming up in late August, I thought it was time for me to contact the one half-sister I'm in sort-of contact with. We haven't communicated in over a year, but she lives in around the Bay Area, so I decided to text her and give her a head's up, telling her that I'd be in SF and would love to meet up with her to introduce myself if she was interested, and that I didn't need an answer now. I mentioned that it was probably as geographically close and she and I would be unless she came down to see our dad for some reason.

I had high doubts she'd ever want to make a journey to LA to see dad. She has similar feelings about him that I have.

She texted me back and told me that it was funny I texted her with this information because she was actually planning to possibly come down next week to see him.

... Huh.

I never would have known this if I hadn't texted her. I never.. would have... known. Because my dad would never mention such a thing.

She's going to try to finalize plans with my dad's secretary, Agnes -- good luck, that woman is a freaking moron -- and she'll let me know. So, if she comes down next week, we might get together to meet each other much sooner than I planned. Hmm. If we go for lunch or coffee or dinner or something, I wonder where to invite her to meet. *contemplates*

But if this isn't the Universe's way of bringing it forward, then I don't know what is.
