Student Survey Grading and Voting Inquiry
As we are about to embark on our first grading round, I thought it would be a good time to ask all our Hogwarts students their thoughts and opinions regarding grades. Currently, this community does ask for negative results. Furthermore, it does not ask voters to comment on why they voted the way they did (as asking for comments seems to decrease the number of votes received).
I realize negative votes can be a sensitive subject for some. Hurt feelings can easily arise, and rather than to help improve their work, it can help deflate one's spirit to the point where they don't want to try anymore. This icontest is meant to be fun and a learning process, so I would like to create the most encouraging environment possible.
I've posted two polls asking how you would like grades to be posted and how you feel about comments. Please take the time to vote and let me know. If you have any further opinions, you can respond to this post with a comment--all will be screened, so feel free to be as candid as you want.
