Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was first published in 1998. Often the least popular book in the series among fans (though still, of course, beloved), it gained new significance after the Half-Blood Prince and the discovery that the diary had been a horcrux all along. In Book Two, we were introduced to house elves and basilisks; to the Burrow and flying cars; to Gilderoy Lockhart; to Godric, Rowena, Helga, and Salazar; to parseltongue, petrification, and polyjuice potion; and to Tom Riddle and his diary.
