Harry and Tonks

Harry wondered whether it was normal that he tended to spend more time in other people's offices than he did his own. He supposed it had something do with his perfectly rational (thanks very much) fear of real work that didn't involve actually being out there and physically making a difference. There was a rumour that a big field operation was in the works - on a higher plane, apparently - and it had Harry on edge. He had to make himself busy to in order to resist the urge to go find Percy and force him to give him something real to do.

All the same, today he found himself in the Auror's common room. He wasn't really allowed in there - he wasn't an Auror, after all - but no one really minded. As a leader, Harry was fair and made good decisions, and he always got his hands as dirty if not dirtier as everyone else, and as a result might well have been an Auror. Still, he'd been working this job for nine years and he still felt a bit weird about invading the space of people who had actually been trained for it, as opposed to having fallen into it by default.

He made himself some tea - maybe it would calm him down - and forced himself into an armchair, looking around for someone he could engage in conversation for long enough to keep him making a fool of himself. He spotted a woman entering, and frowned. Was it Tonks? Sometimes it was hard to tell, she changed her hair and features so often. He called out to her, anyway. "Oi, Tonks!"
