Ginny's Birthday

Harry always felt a little uncomfortable walking into Ginny's work. It gave him the highly uncomfortable feeling that people were looking at him while trying not to let him see it. He got that feeling a lot (it was an unfortunate side effect of being him) but here, for some reason, it was worse

Ginny jumped, but quickly recovered and sent the gentleman she was talking to on his way after assuring him over and over that she would get to work on finding out what sort of curse was placed on his doorknob.

"In your line of work, you should know better than to sneak up on people," she replied, turning in her chair to look up at him.

"Couldn't resist," he said, perching on the arm rest. "Didn't get to see you this morning."

"I had to be in early to go with a team somewhere," she said, giving him a smile. "I thought I'd let you sleep in for a bit longer since it's a rare thing these days."

"And make me miss getting to say Happy Birthday?" he said, feigning hurt.

[ginny_hpr]

Ginny stuck out her tongue at him and finished her cupcake. "Thank you for bringing this," she said, reaching into the desk drawer for a tissue to wipe her mouth.

"Least I can do for my lovely fiancee," he said. "Er, which reminds me - your mum owled again."

[ginny_hpr]

"Oh Merlin," she replied, tossing the tissue into the waste basket beside her desk. "What did she say this time?"

"I'll give you three guesses," he said, sheepishly. "I must say I admire her persistance - most people would have given up on us after this long."

[ginny_hpr]

"I'm not bothered now, but I will be when it gets closer to actually getting married," she replied. "As long as you're not getting cold feet, then we'll fe fine."

[harry_hpr]

"I'm not!" he said, stung at the insinuation.

[ginny_hpr]

"I wasn't saying you were," she winced.

[harry_hpr]

"Sure you weren't," he muttered. "I don't go back on my word, I'll have you know."
