Name : Niina
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Location: Finland
Likes: Existentialism, sarcasm, psychology, philosophy, black humor, warm socks, chocolate, sunsets, strawberry cider, aggressive music, intelligence, rain, thunder, driving.
Dislikes: Fundamentalism, censorship, human race, coldness, loud noises, stupidity, hypocrisy, addictions, wasted abilities, earache, people who are too emotional.
Hobbies: I write, read and play around with Photoshop.
Strengths: I like to think I am quite intelligent; I can see things from a larger perspective and think them through without being too emotional. I am also pretty good with words and writing, not necessarily in English (since it's my second language) but in Finnish nevertheless.
Fears: I am afraid of spiders. REALLY afraid. Arachnophobia is a lot of fun.
Weaknesses: I am self-centered and emotionally detached, and I tend push everyone away. I'm wayward and tend to put myself down all the time. My self-esteem is low. I'm mean and have trouble with being friends with people. (Says someone who has never had a real friend - they all have stabbed me in the back or drifted away from me, and since I live in a small town with I end up being alone.)
Favorite movies [no more than three]: Repo! The Genetic Opera, The Lord of the Rings, Dracula.
Favorite books [no more than three]: Nineteen Minutes (by Jodi Picoult), The Lord of the Rings (by J.R.R. Tolkien), Dracula (by Bram Stoker).
Favorite singer/band: Korn, Marilyn Manson, KMFDM.
Where did you hear about this community? I think I found it through the interest search. Can't be sure, however, as I had this comm bookmarked and I only noticed it yesterday. I had bookmarked it ages.
Wizards’ world
In which house do you think you belong? Why? Either Slytherin or Ravenclaw. I have a strong Slytherin side (ambition and calculation and being emotionally detached and so forth), and my political views (regarding blood purity) would probably land me there. But then again, as pursuit of knowledge dominates my life a lot, I don't know. Either one, depends on what the Sorting Hat would see more important. Multiple online quizzes have put me into Slytherin, but I was stamped as Ravenclaw in a stamping community.
In which house do you think you don’t belong at all? Why? Hufflepuff. I have never been able to identify with ANYTHING about that house.
In which class would you shine the most? Why? History of Magic is a good guess here. My history grades are good in the Muggle world. Also, Potions. It's one of those subjects that would give me a chance to focus on something else than my irrational thoughts, and escaping to the logical world of potions could help me become more rational.
Write a short paragraph about each of the following families [just state your thoughts on each of them]:
Malfoy: A strong, rich family. They seem to be emotionally detached, and it also seems that money is the only thing that matters. One might call them shallow, but there's definitely more to them than what we see.
Black: An old pureblood family that ended up falling from grace. The Black family seems to be far more strict than other pureblood families when it comes to blood purity ("Toujours pur"). And Walburga Black is a nightmare, hahaha.
Potter: I don't have an opinion about them, as the books nor the movies never gave any insight on their family lives. They, however, seem to be a pretty ordinary family.
Weasley: There's something about the Weasleys that rubs me the wrong way. They're far too close-knit for me, and... I don't know, they just annoy me. Somehow.
Remember the pensieve incident from book five? [Chapter #28: Snape’s worst memory] What are your thoughts about it? I'm glad it happened. Harry had to find out that his parents were not perfect, and he was already old enough to accept the fact. Knowing that your parents are not perfect helps you to form a healthy sense of self. And it was also good that he found out just why Snape wasn't particularly fond of him. However, I can only imagine how awkward it must've been for Snape. I, personally, wouldn't want anyone to see any material about the bullying I've experienced.
In these hard times with a new war ahead, where are your loyalties? I would have trouble with picking sides. While I think blood purity is an important thing, I do not support the killing of people. If the Dark side didn't go on about slaying everyone, I'd pick the Dark side, but since Voldemort wants to kill everyone who disagrees, I... I'll just escape to Finland and not pick sides at all, ha ha ha.
