Bi-Weekly challenge: Control

Feb 09, 2008 20:08

Who? Leo Black
What? Being 16 and naive in Italy, but suddenly with a bit more energy and a lot more loss of control.
Why? Because this happens more than people realize.
When? 17 years after grownhp6words

Just hold me and then Oh, just hold me again'>

Leo wouldn't call himself a control freak, but he does believe everything belongs it's in place. He doesn't like for people to move his things from where he places them. This has been the cause of a few rows between him and Vance at work. Vance seems to find amusement in moving Leo's books and sketch pads. Sometimes it's only an inch or two away from where Leo originally had them, but Leo can spot it the moment he approaches.

At home things are very organized. Sinclair is rather orderly as well so living with him has not been a problem. Leo found the adjustment to sharing space with his lover quite easy to make. Of course Leo used to be a bit more patient and understanding than he is lately. Lately he has a hair trigger temper.

The two days off provided him with some much needed rest, but he still hasn't been eating properly. He's always been naturally thin, but now he has lost five pounds without meaning too. His jeans fit a bit loose. The photographers love it. The designers love it. Everything fits as if it was tailored specifically for Leo's lean body.

Earlier in the day he found himself a bit disoriented. He wasn't really tired, but he felt wore out. He couldn't remember if he took his adderall or not, so he took a pill just in case. It wasn't too long after taking that pill that the first one kicked in. Within an hour Leo Black was practically climbing the walls due to excess energy. He felt uncomfortable in his own skin. His heart felt as if it would beat clear out of his chest. He took two showers at the studio because he couldn't stop breaking out into a cold clammy sweat.

It was in the second shower that he began to shake. His hands were trembling and soon his entire body was shaking. Sliding down to the floor of the shower, he curled into him self and focused on breathing. Vance found him when he failed to come back within fifteen minutes. He was needed in hair and make-up, and instead he was shaking on the shower floor.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Vance demanded as he grabbed Leo by the chin and forced him to look at him. "What did you take?"

"The medicine."

"How much of it did you take?!" Vance looked scared, but Leo felt that he was overreacting. He was already starting to balance out.

"I think I screwed up the dosage. I forgot I took it this morning and then took another. I feel a little weird."

The shower was turned off and a towel was wrapped around him. "You need to eat. You're not eating very well, and you need to calm down a little. Take one of the valiums. That will help balance you out. Come on, you're shaking because the water turned cold. Honestly, Leo, how will you ever survive without me to take care of you?"

Leo didn't answer. He was too busy putting on the clothes the designers left out for him, and then he headed upstairs for hair and makeup. Vance returned with a muffin and orange juice and within an hour of taking the valium and eating, Leo feels fine.

It's not until hours later when he's at home that he starts to feel agitated. The kittens are attacking one of the pups, and he doesn't remember them being so damn loud before. "Get out of the kitchen," he snaps at them. They seem shocked that Leo raised his voice and scamper out quickly enough.

He's looking in the cabinets for a glass when he spots it. Sinclair must have emptied the dishwasher in an effort to help out, and he accidentally put the cups where the glasses go. Normally Leo would shrug it off and remind Sinclair of his system for dishes. Right now he is seeing red. "HOW BLOODY HARD IS IT TO PUT THE CUPS WHERE THE CUPS GO INSTEAD OF WHERE THE GLASSES GO?" He screams out. He's shaking with anger as he grabs the cup and slams it down on the counter.

It's when the kitchen window explodes out of nowhere that he's brought out of his rage and left standing in the kitchen, surrounded by broken glass, with a shocked look on his face. He knows he did it. It was an accident. Accidental wandless magic.

Leo hasn't had a wandless magic accident since he was ten years old. To say he's shocked is an understatement. Why the hell did that happen? He wants to ask, but he's too busy staring at the mess in the kitchen to even form words.

prompt, leo black
