Bi-weekly Topic: Write a letter to someone you look up too.

Dearest Aberforth,

I don't think I've ever said this properly to you. At first it was because I couldn't. I didn't have it in me to realize how much you did for me when I couldn't do for myself.

You've made me a better person. It sounds corny and cliched but it's nothing but the truth.

When I think of patience I think of you singing the same song over and over again until I stopped crying. When I think of gentleness I remember how you would hold my hand during thunderstorms. When I need to remember what sacrifice is I think of my beautiful brother who wanted to stay at home and care for me rather than go to school.

There's a saying I heard once about how if you love someone you want two things: to give them roots and to give them wings. You are both those things to me. You ground me to the present when I find myself slipping back into the past and you give me the freedom to fly all at the same time.

So now, when things like patience, gentleness and sacrifice are required of me I put together all that you've given me and I do my best to give it back to the world.

You're not the kind of hero who makes the history books, you're just my hero.

Always and forever,

Ariana
