Ohhh...and I've worried about this, because wolfsbane IS supposed to be poisonous to werewolves. Severus's snarkiness and shock and utter fury were perfect. (And speaking as someone who's taking medication with nasty side effects, I do understand Remus's feelings--that the risk is worth it just to feel halfway normal.)

Dude. There seems to be an explosion of dying!Remus fic of late and its bloody depressing. This one's lovely and the whole issue of side-effects is an important one and rarely dealt with in a serious way. It usually makes Remus jump Sev's bones. Which is hot. But won't break a reader's heart like your fic does.

ps- kudos for a subtle and appropriate use of the word 'vertiginous'.

Vertiginous is one of my favourite words. And since I get vertigo with more frequency than I'd like, I take a certain joy in using it.

Am I riding a wave of deathfics? I hadn't noticed- haven't been reading much lately *sniffles* Hopefully Severus is resourceful enough to save our Remus!

I'm so pleased you enjoyed it, though. *hands you a chocolate bunny to make up for the broken heart*

Yes, well, chocolate can fix only so much. I prefer to put my faith in Snape's abilities. So there.

Remus might argue that point.

Actually, I want to write a story where Remus is bewildered by the fact the people think he's a chocoholic. "Good lord, I kept the stuff in my pocket because I knew we'd be surrounded by Dementors. That's what a good DADA instructor does. Why do you people keep assuming more than that?"
