Three!gabriel_anubis, librae and xylodemon

Not a new member, but a founding member, one of the first people I invited, (very nervously!!) but she's changed her user name from anathdemalfoy to gabriel_anubis and I realised I'd never done an intro for her.(or any of the founding members to be frank)

I think I first found gabriel_anubis on aff.net.  She wrote Lucius - and believe me, Lucius fic was RARE a couple of years ago, good Lucius fic almost impossible to find for a newbie like me.  She wrote him with Moody!! for Merlin's sake!  I was horrified - then I read "No way to say goodbye" and "Broken Hallelujah" and I was hooked.  It works.  I love a pairing that is so on the edge like this. I love characters like Moody and Shacklebolt (and Percy,  how I would like to see him written that is, and haven't) who skirt close to the Dark.  Her Lucius/Moody is beautiful, she makes me see Lucius anew, a glittering fallen angel, through the eyes of an old man.  And she makes me adore Moody, seen through Lucius' eyes, he's still craggy and scarred but Lucius loves him.  Highly highly recommended.  I see LM/AM as utterly canon.  She also converted me to Macnair/Lucius - and subLucius in general (with big powerful men).

Not a one trick pony, but any means - she also does femmeslash, which is beautifully evidenced by " And the Water turned her gold" (Olympe/Tonks) Adult.

I can't remember which fic I first noticed from librae.  I read her because she did pairings I like - Regulus, Sirius, Remus. I was slowly seduced by her style, it's not overblown and flowery but every word works, nothing jars - which I love. You aren't so much reading as being towed gently along, and you never think of the back button because you want to know what's going to happen.  It's also beautiful writing - with surprising juxtapositions of images and feelings which, after you've read them make perfect sense.

This, from Perigee (Remus/Sirius - Regulus) PG13

In the month of December he memorized Remus Lupin, swallowing trivia and snapshot memories to compensate for the things that could not be articulated or defined. Here is the exact color of his eyes: cloudy blue, starless, encapsulated on winter nights. Here are the clues of his presence: butterfly-folded books scattered around the flat, and a pair of glasses with bent earpieces. Here are the words he says too often: quite, maybe, incidentally, please.

*sighs happily.*

Unbelievably, I actually thought xylodemon was a member. I seem to have known her forever, and I always enjoy her fics. But she wrote something the other day that really moved me, and I went to comment on her post with a "oh and please cross post to hp_lit" won't you?" and a little warning voice in my ear told me to check the membership list. I was very surprised to see she wasn't on it, and so I invited her immediately.

The fic was "Houses of the Holy" (Bellatrix/Regulus) Adult

I just adored this, possibly because of my Regulus fixation, but also because of the skilful way the story weaved through Regulus' life. The main pairing isn't (for me) Regulus/Bella, but Regulus and Grimmauld Place, or Regulus and his tinge of Black madness.

The voices are everywhere, hiding inside everything. He hears whispers in the billow of the drawing room curtains, hears laughter in the creak of the floorboards and the crackle of the fire. His mother rarely speaks at all, running her household with icy glares and chiselled frowns. Regulus wonders if she's finally run out of words, wonders if she's given up trying to heard over the walls.

Welcome to you all - thank you so much for joining and I hope you have fun.
