Heritage (pure-blood, half-blood, muggle-born):
Background:
Please answer the following questions, and assume there is an "and Why?" on the end of ALL of them:
SORTING HAT
You're just about to sorted into your first year at Hogwarts! What would be going through your mind?: I wish my name was higher-up on the alphabetical order- I can't wait to be sorted. I know exactly where I want to go.
Professor McGonnagall shows you towards the stool and places the hat upon your head - it takes a moment to think before shouting out your House. How do you react? How do the students of your sorted house react? I grin knowingly when the hat shouts out my house. My table claps and waves me over as I sit to join them, then turns its attention to the high table to watch the rest of the sorting. I sit with family friends.
Sitting at the dinner table with fellow students around you, what kind of people would you want to talk to first? The busy ones, or the very quiet ones? Who would interest you? Who would you observe? Well, I mostly notice the older ones, the ones paying me no attention at all. I have a thousand questions to ask everyone but I know better than to run my mouth off and be seen as just another annoying first-year. I'll wait to ask my friends later. I watch the busiest ones talk and try and listen in a bit.
Imagine you're sat at your dormitory window on your first night: the others are asleep in their beds. What's going through your mind? My dorm room is cold and unfamiliar. I can't sleep because I'm terrified, but I'd never let on. I'm going through all my school supplies again, just in case someone sees me and asks- I can say that I can't wait to get started tommorrow.
ABOUT YOU
Who is your favourite character in HP?: I love all the Blacks, but I think Bellatrix is fascinating and compelling as a villian. I was so angry when they left her out of the GOF movie. She's one woman from the series who seams just as strong as the other males around her, unlike, say Fleur, or even Tonks, who will go all to pieces over some guy.
Who is your LEAST favourite character in HP? I really despise Fudge. I think that his weakness and commiserating instead of action is to blame for half the problems in the wizarding world. I also hate the Ginny Weasley from Order of the Phoenix and the Half Blood Prince. I just don't buy her transformation from squeaky to sassy. She screams Maryy-Sue to me. Pretty or not, I call "amortentia" on her and Potter's romance. I just dont buy it.
What occupation interests you / what would you most like to do in the HP books?: I'd like to be a curse-breaker or to do something high-up in the Ministry.
To you, what is the most important message in the Harry Potter books?: Don't judge people, because they are seldom what they seem.
If you were told you had to kill off someone in the HP books, who would it be? (please don't answer Voldemort, we'd all like to see the back of him): Peter. The snivelling, weak minded, coward.
How would YOU finish the HP series in book 7?: Snape will be redeemed, and I think he'd die for Harry's sake. I see Lupin dying, but taking Peter with him. Harry would live, and be paired with anyone but Ginny. And the fangirl in me is desperatley hoping that Snape will bring Draco to the light side with him. Oh, Draco, I know you have it in you. *Re-reads the wand-lowering scene*
If you were chosen to carry on the HP series by JK Rowling and to carry on the adventures, would you or wouldn't you and why? Oh god. Thats a huge responsibility- but who could pass up an oppurtunity like that? Of course I'd do it and I'd do it well.
If you answered 'Yes' to the previous question, how would you continue the series, what stories?
Well, I'd write book 7 like how I answered the "How would YOU finish the HP series in book 7" question. Then, if it was well received, I'd do the prequels set in the MWPP era right up to Oct 31, 1981. The last days of the Maurauders. Yes, I think the fandom would just eat it up.
THE CLINCHER
If you were a jewel you'd be: An emerald, because they're rare and, well, who doesnt love green.
If you were an animagus you'd be: A falcon, because I'd want to fly.
If you were an emotion you'd be: contempt, simply for the reason that it's how i feel most of the time anyway.
If you were a weapon you'd be: A dagger (one with an ornate hilt) Painful, easy to conceal, and not for the faint of heart.
If you were a tool you'd be: A ladder, to take people to new levels.
If you were a spell you'd be: Ennervate. Dead useful, and it means "to add nerve", which I think most people would to well to have. Nerve, that is.
If you were a good quality in a person, you'd be: ambition. I think that knowing what you want- and how to get it- is something that society lacks in general.
If you were a bad quality, you'd be: lack of empathy
If you were someone / something in Hogwarts you'd be: the Whomping Willow
Why? To keep those nosy students in their place. whomp. Oh, it sounds like fun.
If you were anywhere on earth, you'd be: London or Paris. A city that's beautiful in the summer as well as the winter, with snow. (But not too much)
If you were anyTHING on earth or in your life, you'd be:
If you had to choose:
The Order or the Death Eaters? The order. At least its members are somewhat independant and less subserviant (especially now that Dumbledore is dead.) The Order members work for a cause, not a master. I admire that.
Snape or Malfoy? The Malfoys never betrayed anyone.
Luna or Ginny? Luna Lovegood, even though she's too crazy for me to actually LIKE her, anything is better than Ginny. Oh, how I hate her.
Crucio or Avada Kedavra? Crucio, because there are worse things than death. If you are in a situation where you need either of these, I think that Crucio has more of an effect on the person affected, if that makes sense. AK is probably painless, or at least quick, and then once you've killed them, what else is there? I think Crucio would be more useful.
Harry dying or Harry living in book 7? Harry living, because I think his death would ruin the entire series for me, and just be anticlimactic.
Voldemort dead (Closed ending) or Voldemort not-quite-dead-but-people-think-he is (Open ending)?:
Open endings! Lets hear it for the eighth horcrux.
Any last words? I'm excited. I have my hopes, but I won't be let down.
