I love your perceptive little Hugo, and I especially love the way in which Ron is a perceptive and loving father, too. If JKR has a fault, it's that she shows her boys as perenially clueless and insensitive. This Ron is, to quote his former self, wicked.
Some favourite lines:
he was obviously just too mature for it now. Indeed. At twelve a man lays aside childish things.
granddad was always showing him neat Muggle things that were much more interesting than the Muggle things his mum showed him Never knew my own grandfathers, but I would like Arthur ...
He also knew there was life outside of Quidditch unlike his cousins. Grin.
Hugo's reflexes were worse than his flying skills Chip of the old block, eh? He'd keep up the family tradition, indeed he would.
And, for me the two best lines of all:
I think I had a different young Weasley boy in mind though he's not quite so young anymore.
If that other Weasley boy wants to give that broom a test fly
Without an ounce of sentimentality, you create a great picture of father-and-son bonding.
