My dearest, most awesomest Mystery Author!

First of all, I hope it doesn't look like I've been ignoring this - this got posted the day after I left for a holiday in Austria, where access was non-existent/limited to e-mailing my parents to tell them I'm okay and checking university e-mail. ;)

I love you for this. I don't think I can say how much I love you for this, but hot damn I do. Sirius's grumblings about maps, directions and both of them getting lost in general made me laugh, for the first time in these past few, extremely trying 24 hours - as someone for whom getting lost in strange places is a way of life, I could sympathise so much and you managed to capture the humour in the situation so well.

And, oh my goodness - I often wonder how druids (Druids?) fit into JKR's Potterverse... having just thought about it barely weeks ago, so I was excited to see it being discussed in the story, along with this look at Irish wizards/magic. I mean, wow! That, plus the nods to what the rest of our MWPP gang were doing for the Order - there's so much in the way of plotty detail, I can't get over it. Absolutely frickin' amazing.

I must commend you for your pacing, as well - upping the tension with the conversation about how Ireland won't or will be affected by Voldemort and then having things go pear-shaped just as the conversation gets to a head worked really well to move things along without being jarring.

"This is more like your form of negotiations, Padfoot!" He managed to shout while rolling away.
Yeah!

The interactions and dynamics of these characters are so amazing - Marlene reminds me of myself, from the agitated reaction to the infuriating banter of Sirius and James, to the punching-on-the-shoulder bits... James wandering over to prevent a blow-up in the conversation is perfect. But not as perfect as the little exchange he and Sirius have;
"Order of the Phoenix," said James with a grin, "Come for the war, stay for the trendy uniform." The way they just work off of each other, it suits them and the closeness of their friendship so much. *melts*

And omg, the Muggle clothes. And Peter! And Dorcas's cameo! But the Muggle clothes! The '70s is such a fun era to work with, fashion wise, and eee, Sirius in tweed!!!!!!!! And will I ever get tired of Sirius in leather? Nope, I don't think so. :D

By gosh, Sirius's slight annoyance at James & Lily's 'lovey-dovey romance' - again, something I can completely sympathise with. Of course he loves them to bits, but for swinging singles, couples can be so sickly-sweet and tiring at times... ;)

And a big well done also on the snappy dialogue - I don't think I should try to quote anything in particular, else I'll be putting pretty much the whole fic in my comment - !!!

But again, the plottiness of this is astounding - you've truly fulfilled my deepest hopes for this fic exchange, and more... it's really such an intimate look at the lives of James, Sirius & co. in the Order, and the additional insights into wizarding life (the names of the Wizarding pubs - so much love!) just add to the richness of it all. This is my first exchange, and I didn't know how much detail to include in my request, so I realised later I had probably been *too* specific, but you've gone and done it all, and done it all so awesomely.

He got caught in a mob of French tourists and only managed to free himself when he began to loudly direct rather risqué bits of their language at the female members of the crowd *dies* He is such an ass - but so charmingly so, dammit. And that's how he must have been!

Being an Mancunian and Red Devils fan, I simply loved the little mention of Manchester United, by the way. :D

(continued in the next comment, part 2, as the whole thing is apparently too long :P)
