Awww. That's so cute! And a rare and welcome fluffy slice of life in Malfoy Manor. And... I know a black-and-white cat called Trouble. Do I know you? ;)

I was rather hoping that Lucius and Narcissa had hidden the kitten in the shed, either for Draco to discover for himself or because she was a Christmas present. Then I was afraid Lucius would have done something horrible to the kitten. To my mind he was perhaps a little too fulsome in his expression of fatherly love here, but it's a pleasure to see him doing the decent thing for once. Though... poor Draco, condemned to being watched constantly. Surely all children need some privacy from their parents. Or is it part of the Malfoy training to learn how to carve out one's own privacy despite the surveillance?

That was the sweetest bit of fluff (both the fic, and the kitten, really). I loved the glimpse at Draco's better side, and the way Dobby acknowledges it can make him likeable. And to watch him with the kitten (so well named, too) was just too cute. And Draco lording it over the house-elves. And the house-elves in love with the kitten :).

'Trouble' was described so well that you just *have* to be a real cat person ;). The feline behaviour and mannerisms were amazingly well-written.

I had a moment of heart-clutching dread whether Lucius would also succumb to the sheer cuteness of the kitten, and squeed happily when he did. Actually, I'd suspected as much ever since the 'Oh?' when Lucius discovered the thing :).

What a wonderful, warm-hearted story - I loved it.

How adorable! The opening scene with Draco finding the kitten was particularly well written--his "I'm going to pet you, and you're going to like it" statements struck me as perfect for little Draco.
