Summary: Remus discovered exactly how much Severus enjoys Halloween.
Notes: Post-war, assumes Remus and Severus survived and started over in the States.
When Remus came home from work on Halloween, he was almost afraid to enter his own yard.
Their lawn was littered with gravestones, and the trees were festooned with orange lights that gleamed through an eerie fog. The sidewalk was lined with fat black candles, and he was startled by a zombie lurching out from behind a tree at him. He hurried up to the porch, only to see a carved jack-o-lantern vomiting a mass of pumpkin guts beside the door.
Snakes hissed and wriggled at him from a black wreath as he flung open the door - and walked right into a spider's web from which hung large, twitching cocoons, and bloody footprints on the floor led from the entrance to the downstairs loo.
Sounds of creaking stairs and low moans surrounded him, and a large cauldron - one that was quite familiar - sat by the door, filled with sweets.
Then Severus appeared - ghostly white skin, hair and clothes - and looking quite pleased.
"Had fun today, did you?" Remus asked dryly.
"I'll give these American Muggles a Halloween to remember, by Merlin."
Remus kissed Severus' wicked smirk. "Have you chosen a costume for me?"
"The Wolf-Man, of course."
