Characters: Harry Potter, Draco Malfoy, Albus Severus Potter, Scorpius Malfoy
Rating: G
Summary: Harry and Al bump into the Malfoys on their way to Muggle London to trick-or-treat.
“Potter,” Malfoy said, looking between Harry and Albus Severus. “You do realise your son has become an Inferi. You should probably be concerned."
Harry gaped at Malfoy before snorting. "He's a zombie, you git. It's Hallowe'en."
Malfoy looked blank. "And?"
Harry caught Al giving Scorpius, dressed in proper wizarding robes and smirking with perfect white teeth candy-free teeth, a sympathetic (but also somewhat gloating) look.
"And people wear costumes. Dress up. Merlin, you've never come across this before?"
"Of course I have," sniffed Malfoy. "Purebloods have their own traditions, though."
At this, Scorpius' brows drew together. He eyed Al's candy pillowcase with something akin to envy-Harry wondered if Scorpius had experienced that emotion before.
"Such as?" Harry prompted.
"We light candles and eat old bread," Scorpius said with disdain. He ignored Malfoy's sour look.
"That sounds…"
"Oh, shut it, Potter."
Harry cleared his throat. "So, want to see what a fun Hallowe'en is like?"
Scorpius lit up like a jack-o-lantern. "Father, could we? Just this once?"
"I hate you, Potter."
"Come on," Harry said, grinning. "The bread's already old, it's not like it'll waste."
"We haven't costumes." By now, Malfoy looked tempted despite himself.
Harry thought. "No problem. You'll go as wizards."
"Brilliant!" said Scorpius.
Malfoy sighed.
