"Just think of your happiest memory, Harry. And say, Expecto Patronum!" Lupin advised.

He was sixteen years old, and back at Hogwarts. It was a Hogsmede weekend so most of his fellows had gone. Remus himself had chosen to stay and enjoy the quiet, "quiet" taking the form of a not-strictly-allowed cigarette.
He walked the grounds with his contraband, taking the time to enjoy both it and the scenery; autumn raged around him, the trees exploding with colour, making Remus think of happy things: candy apples, apple cider, apple tart… come to think of it, had he missed lunch?
Just as he was contemplating this all-important question, he heard the sound of running feet and his name ("Reeeeemuuuuuus!") being yelled at him before he was pushed, face forward into a pile of leaves.
"Dammit Sirius," Remus said, rubbing at where the cigarette singed his hand.
"Bloody things are rubbish anyway," Sirius exclaimed cheerfully. "They make it much less pleasant to do this--"
Remus sighed happily as he became enveloped in the familiarity of Sirius' mouth against his. They rolled together, buried in the leaf pile for at least an hour…

"Professor?"
Remus snapped to. "Yes Harry?"
"May I try?"
"Certainly."
