Summary: Left in the forest by his fellow Death Eaters, Severus copes with the elements.
A/N: Fall of 1979, implied hazing of a new Death Eater.
Prompt: Anything dark and moody and kinda sad involving any of the Death Eaters. No fluff.
Severus struggled to sit up to stop a rock from digging into his sore back. He groaned when a sharp pain exploded from his wrist and he dropped none-too gently back to the sodden ground.
Looking up into the darkened canopy of spruce, he tried to hold back the panic that was rising. He began to catalog his injuries, courtesy of his sodding so-called friends!, when a prickling sensation on his exposed knee drew his attention to his throbbing leg. A huge, furry spider was digging into the bloody gash. Well that was not on!
Severus ignored the pain as he smashed the creature to pulp, then grabbed a wet leaf and scrubbed at the residue.
He really needed to get the hell out of that forest.
Tilting his head back, he opened his cracked lips and let the rain fall into his parched mouth. The pain was clearing his head and he knew that Evan and Reg would not be coming back to check on him, not that he ever wanted to see those bloody bastards again.
Just as he was relaxing a bit, the nearby sound of a howling wolf shocked him into a dead faint.
