"I'll see Dumbledore before we leave," Eldred Worple said. He glanced around, then pointed. "Wait for me there. It's labelled out of order; it should be empty."
Sanguini shrugged and entered the bathroom. At least he could wash his hands. He tried to eat regular food instead of drinking blood. It didn't satisfy him, but he didn't like hurting people.
The drab bathroom was dim and shabby, and there was a curious hollow sound from the sinks as he approached. Abruptly, a ghostly figure shot out of the drain.
Startled, Sanguini jumped back, then blinked, astonished. "Myrtle? Good lord, I haven't seen you in ages."
She squinted, tilting her head until finally recognition lit her face. "Teddy Maplethorpe!"
He winced. "My name's Sanguini now."
"Sanguini? Why?" Myrtle drifted closer, looking him over. "Oh! You've become a vampire." Her expression became reproachful. "You used to be a Hufflepuff."
"It wasn't like being re-sorted," he said defensively. "I couldn't help it."
"Is it difficult being a vampire?" she asked, curious.
Sanguini looked at the crumbs of pasty still clinging to his fingers, and clenched them against the ravenous hunger that never went away. "More than you know, Myrtle. More than you know."

Author's Note: I was curious about the sentence in HBP where Eldred Worple stuffs a pasty into Sanguini's hand, obviously expecting him to eat it. That led to this. ;)
