Ginny entered the cottage to find the air redolent of herbs, spices, and something sweet. She was weary from a long day on a broomstick, ready to collapse rather than spend the evening out. The Harpies trained no less hard on All Hallows Eve than any other day, and with so many siblings, their spouses and children, the night was bound to be late and exhausting.
Something in that scent perked her up, and she followed it into kitchen. Over the hearth hung a cauldron of simmering liquid that smelled utterly delightful. Leaning over it was a familiar blonde. Luna looked up and smiled that dreamy smile that was just for Ginny.
"What is this?" Ginny asked, feeling her weariness lift.
"What do you think?" her lover replied, the faintest smirk pulling one corner of her mouth higher than the other. "I made you some witch’s brew to get you through the night."
Ginny peered at the liquid again, all apples and spices and something more magical. But though she wanted the taste and the energy she knew it would bring, she went to Luna and wrapped her arms around her, kissing her.
"Happy Hallows," Luna replied against her lips.
