Summary: Upon hearing the cry of an unknown creature, Luna creeps out of bed and goes to hunt it down.

Luna's candle barely lit the way through the dark halls of Hogwarts. Ahead of her, a large monster-like silhouette bumbled away, turning a corner into a classroom.
For a split second, the creature's features were illuminated by candlelight. Eight little legs struggled to keep a big, furry body upright. Long, dark horns curved upwards to the ceiling. Could it be…?
Luna rushed into the room, but it was empty and in complete disarray. The window had been thrown open and droves of leaves were blowing in, finding new homes in tables and chairs that had been knocked over.
A stern, drawling voice came from behind Luna. "A student out of bed?"
Luna turned around and smiled. "Oh, hello, Professor Snape!" she said cheerfully. "Are you having a good evening?"
Professor Snape's eyes widened. "Miss Lovegood. How… disappointing." He glanced around. "Did you cause this mess?"
Luna shook her head. "No," she replied. "It was a Blibbering Humdinger!"
The professor raised an unimpressed eyebrow. "That will be detention for you, Miss Lovegood. You would do well to get your head out of the clouds."
Luna didn't mind. For a brief sighting of the rare Blibbering Humdinger, it was all worth it.
