Notes: First, thank you to the mods who put this lovely, lovely fest together. This was a blast, and I can’t wait to do it again next year. Secondly, thank you, Teddy, for the prompts you gave. This isn’t my usual cup of tea in terms of genre, but I decided to make an exception. I hope you like my take on ghosts. Third and finally, a huge shout out to Thorned Huntress, who not only offered her services as a beta, but also told me, in honesty, that this was the one.
They think no one can hear them when they’re together, probably because they don’t realise I’m here.
But I am, and I can hear them…and see them. Of course I’d be here. This is my home, the Noble House of Black. Or at least it was. Now it belongs to a man with a scar who never comes around - but they do.
More frequently, this place has become their escape. They think the house will keep their secret like it kept all the others. They think if everyone knew, they wouldn’t approve. Perhaps they’re right.
But I know it all.
I know they started coming here shortly after she left Hogwarts. I know she always wears matching underthings when they meet. I know she likes it when he lightly pulls her hair. I know he likes the moan it elicits from her lips when he does.
I see it all. I see the way he kneels by the bed as if he’s worshipping at the altar between her legs. I see the way she bends at the waist, looking over her shoulder as she waits for him to take her from behind.
They don’t see me.
But I see everything.
