Title: Halloween at Hogwarts

Summary: In one universe, Ron Weasley helped defeat a mountain troll on his first Halloween at Hogwarts. In this universe, he has another Halloween surprise waiting.

Ron dragged his feet as he and Harry walked to dinner. Harry was going on about how last year his mum charmed the Muggles' carved pumpkins to talk.
"You aren't listening," Harry said. "Don't you like Halloween?"
Ron bit his lip. He loved Halloween. But Fred and George had warned him. "It's a kid's thing." Ron said. "It's not that big at Hogwarts."
"It’s not?" Harry’s face fell.
"Founder’s Day is the big holiday. And the birthdays of the Heads of Houses."
At that very moment Fred and George appeared and threw open the doors to the Great Hall. "Ta-da!"
Ron gaped. A Halloween Feast!
"We said, 'trick or treat--'" said George.
"--and you, little brother, said 'trick!'"
"That was years ago!" Ron spluttered.
Fred smiled. "We thought ahead."
"The best tricks take time," said George. "Enjoy the Feast!"
It was hard to be angry while eating a pumpkin pasty. Then his stomach sank. "Harry, did you, erm..."
"What?"
"Know about Professor McGonagall's birthday?"
"When's that?" Harry blinked.
Ron blushed, remembering the card he'd given her. ("Don’t forget to sign it!" Fred had said. "To my very favorite teacher!")
"Never mind!" Ron said, swallowing another pasty.
