Summary: Harry skips out on the Halloween party his eighth year at Hogwarts.

Eighth year Harry drew his knees up and wrapped his arms around them as he looked across the grounds.
"You should go back in,” noted a well-remembered voice behind him.
Harry didn't turn, he couldn't. Severus as a ghost was unthinkable. "Did you ever try bobbing for apples with glasses on? They end up on the bottom of the tub."
"There are sticking charms."
"With this hair? It would be as bad as pulling jelly slugs out of it in the end."
“You used to be quite fond of sweets, I don’t imagine those are in short supply inside.”
Harry hugged his knees tighter.
“Cockroach clusters, ice mice, liqourice wands…” the man listed.
“Not the kind of wand I want,” Harry muttered.
“What’s that?”
“Nothing.” Harry shook his head.
"So what type of wand does interest you, Mr. Potter?”
Harry felt his prick stir.
“Well?”
“You’re a ghost, it doesn’t matter anymore.”
“Who’s a ghost?” Severus drawled.
Harry leapt up, his wand at the ready.
“What sort of wand?”
“How can it be?”
“Is that what you really want to know?” Severus smirked.
“I…” Harry stammered.
“Failed Occlumency lessons. I already know, but you were underage then.”
“And now?” Harry asked breathily.
