Title: Of Owls, Wisdom and Remembrance

Summary: It's Halloween and Remus decorated amongst other things.
This time Severus turned to his right as he entered the lane to Lupin's small cottage, the wind whipped his hair across his face. Gravel crunched under his boots, and Nyx hooted from the tall oak tree. The cottage windows were covered in owl silhouettes, with glowing, golden eyes. Some of the owls were eared and some were not, both wisdom and death were represented. Naturally, it was Lupin, after all.
A pile of pumpkins that looked as if it was dumped straight from a muggle lorry nearly obliterated the pathway: Jack-o-lanterns, gray, white and black pumpkins, pumpkins covered in fairy dust, and one that had a profile carved in the flesh that closely mimicked his own. Clearly, it was all meant to be ornamental and not orderly, Severus thought as he pulled his cloak closer to his body to avoid the fairy dust.
Remus flung the door open; in his hand he held the most preposterous looking skull of all time. It was covered in brightly coloured designs.
Remus' smile was bittersweet. "Day of the Dead, so that we remember."
Of course we remember, Severus thought. Warm arms wrapped around him and drew him inside, before he could find his voice to speak.
