Miss McGonagall gave me that rare beautiful smile of hers, and then she actually took my hand and patted it!!!! And said, "that she is, Pomona."
Rare beautiful smile! Hand-taking! Exclamation points! Her words! I feel bad for the butterflies, for my stomach just dropped out of me in the most pleasant of ways (I imagine less-so for the butterflies). What an adorable scene. I imagine I might have fainted on the spot, and happily. (Ah, I see the same of Fiona, but more extreme--as I would expect, given it is her hand in Minerva's possession.)

When your granddaughters are ready to come to school here, don't be surprised if they find me still in place.
Great big smile from me--and the ghost line. Wondrous ending!

As you can tell from the rest of my comment, I'm not quite sure how fond I am of this fic. You should perhaps try writing it again--or, no, on second thought: you should write a prequel, so that I might know you truly have the knack for this and so I may know how I really feel about such stories.

(Which is to say, you knocked it out of the park. Or caught the Snitch. Or won the blue ribbon. Whatever other sports terms.)

Yes, I think I did enjoy reading it as much as you enjoyed writing it. I loved the classic school-story tropes you included in this fic--and it reminds me that I really need to read more boarding-school stories, given how much I tend to love them. (But I still vote you write that prequel.)

The characterisation (including of Ravendore), the form (epistolary! absolutely lovely!), the pacing, the main and supporting characters (what an impeccable cast!), the humour, the description of crushes and Crushes...

I love it. Love it love it love it. Cannot possibly express that enough. Thank you!

Oh, my! What a lovely gift of a comment. I felt as if I were unwrapping a new present every time you cited a line you liked.

I'm glad you liked GP in particular; I'm quite fond of the idea of her as a dungaree-wearing Muggle stable owner.

Thank you for this wonderful response. I know how long it takes to craft a thorough comment on a fic, and I appreciate the care and effort you gave.

It made my week.
