I imagine that the Wizarding world probably has traditional sports rather like "Highland games" (you know, popular festivals with events that test strength and agility where the contestants prove their ability to do things like hurling oversized logs as far as a great, burly bloke is able). In my imagination, the wizarding versions of these games are designed to demonstrate the "common" witch or wizard's ability to accomplish magical feats that are outlandish variants on traditional working-class skills.
Wizard games are probably played/staged at events like a Midsummer festival or at smaller, community fairs that occur at harvest time. They might also feature at obscure local anniversary celebrations of little-known historical events. Each thirteenth year, in March, Ottery St. Catchpole holds a scold-cucking festival in commemoration of Gillian Glibtooth, who emerged unscathed after thirteen days of submersion when her cucking stool 'stuck' in the down position.
