MEDICAL MAGIC

Medicine and healing in the wizarding world share superficial similarities to the muggle world (hospitals, healers, chemical concoctions to heal the sick), but there seem to be interesting differences implicit in JKR's descriptions of health, illness and healing.

Canon: The Harry Potter Lexicon discusses what we know about St Mungo's and medical magic.

Fanon ideas we're looking for include things like:

- The role and training of Healers and other medical personnel
- Who becomes a healer? And why?
- Details about St Mungo's - and other medical institutions
- Details about Madam Pomfrey and the informary at Hogwarts
- Spells, potions, lotions, treatments, procedures
- Magical maladies (i.e. that muggles don't have)
- Ideas about wizarding biology and how that affects wizard medicine

... and anything else you might think of!
