female Harry Potter, raised by Merlin--found
Here's what I remember:
- James and Lily's child is a girl named Amaranth or Amaryllis--I think Lilly called her Mara, or Mary for short.
- At some point after they have been informed of the threat against them, (not sure if they are under the Fidelius yet), Merlin appears on their doorstep, and convinces them to name him as their kid's guardian should they be killed. (And I don't know what the explanation was for how/why Merlin was wandering around alive.) The baby, by convergence of James and Lily's lines is the future queen of the wizarding world. I think Merlin explains this to the Potters as part of the reason to make him the guardian. Merlin shows up almost as soon as the Potters die--therefore no Hagrid taking the toddler out of Sirius' arms. Merlin immediately has the will checked and is given legal custody before Dumbledore has a chance to get control of the child.
- I think by acting quickly Merlin gathers several Potter adjacent people (Sirius, maybe Remus, and the Longbottoms) before anything unpleasant happens to them and the group of them get behind wards to raise the child together.
Not sure where it goes from there, or even if it continues past that point. It likely was a WIP that was abandoned.
