Title: Full Moon
Rating: PG-13
Prompt: #15 glow
Date: 07/01/06
Summary: As Tonks waits for the full moon to fade, and for Remus to come home, her mind drifts to less pleasant times.
Pairing(s): Remus/Tonks
Other Character(s): Fenrir Grayback
Warning: A bit bloody.
Word Count: 400

Tonks looked up at the full moon, glowing bright and sitting heavily in the sky. She wouldn’t sleep tonight. She’d stay up, waiting for Remus to return, pacing, hoping that nothing bad would happen to him.

He’s been doing this for a long time, she reasoned. He’ll be okay.

She always wanted to hold him, take care of him, but most of the time she wasn’t sure what to do. She loved him, sure, but sometimes it was all a bit much to handle. She cursed at the moon, and cursed the now deceased Fenrir Greyback, killed by Remus himself.

She wonders if he ever has nightmares about the famous werewolf battle that occurred just after Harry defeated Voldemort. She still does, and she wasn’t even there for most of it.

---

She arrived late, with the rest of the Aurors, and the moment Remus saw her he jumped in front of her. Even as the wolf, he recognized her. That was rare, and said a lot about their love.

But then she watched her lover become a monster, and it all became a blur.

She remembered Fenrir attacking Remus. Blood everywhere. The angry, snarling, creatures ripping at each other’s fur, flesh, and bone. She watched her lover in horror as his teeth dug into Fenrir’s neck, ripping it open. Remus held on until Fenrir stopped struggling, then dropped the dying body to the ground. He looked at Tonks without the usual intelligence in his eyes, lapping at the blood around his mouth.

For the first and only time, she had been scared of him. She cast a defensive spell to protect herself, then blacked out. It was the only time in all her time as an Auror that she fainted on a job.

---

Tonks looked up at the glowing full moon, wondering where Remus was. She wondered how much of the werewolf battle he remembered, as he didn’t always know what he did as the wolf. Wondered if he still had nightmares about it like she did.

Mostly, though, she wondered when he’d be back. She waited for the glow of the moon give way to early morning light. She needed Remus with her to sleep.

Summary: Katie and Oliver spend summer together. Fluffly.
Pairing(s): Katie/Oliver
Word Count: 550

I rise slowly on my broom, enjoying the warm summer breeze against my face, my bare arms. I haven’t been flying since the House Cup, and this feels good.

Oliver pulls up next to me. This was his idea. I think Oliver would live on that broom if he could. He gives me a charming smile, the sort that could make a girl melt.

“Come on, Katie!” he says excitedly. “We’ll never get to the lake at this rate.” He’s baiting me, and I’m letting him. He speeds off, and I follow close behind, not one to dismiss a challenge.

Oliver’s family owns a wide expanse of farmland, and Oliver says that on the far west side there is a lake where he and his cousins spent most of their childhood summers. He says I’ll love it.

We race along the property, zig-zagging through the fields. Below me there is a corn crop, swerve right and there is a barn, swerve left, and there are some sheep grazing. It is all so quaint and almost Muggle. But then, some of Oliver’s family are Muggles.

We arrive at the lake, a small, oddly-shaped body of water surrounded by trees with a stone bridge going over a narrow part. Oliver puts a hover-charm on his broom, then lets go. He falls into the water, and my heart skips a beat.

“Oliver!” I call, grasping my broom-handle tighter.

He resurfaces, treading the water, which must be deeper than it looks.

“It’s fine, Katie. Just let go,” he says.

I shake my head. No. I’m not going to let him bait me.

“Oh, come on,” he says. “You’re not scared of anything. You dive in and out of Quidditch games, fearlessly, and you even once punched a Slytherin in the face. Just jump, it’s fun.”

And there was the smile again. Adorable, yet challenging at the same time. Damn Oliver Wood.

I reluctantly place the hover charm, let go of the broom, and fall awkwardly into the water. I have to admit, it’s a bit of a rush! I swim to Oliver and he looks at me with a smug expression.

“See?” he says.

Well, I can’t just let him get away with that. I just have to do something about hat self-righteous look, those eyes challenging me to a playful argument.

So I grab his shoulders and dunk him under the water. He comes back up quickly, and pushes me down, and we begin playful war of dunking and splashing, as if we were kids, enjoying it the whole time.

At dusk we collapse on the grassy ground beneath a large elm tree. Oliver points out a squirrel scurrying above us, as if it holds some sort of significance. He’s so much like a child sometimes, and I laugh.

“What’s so funny?” he asks.

“Nothing,” I say, still smiling. “You’re just cute.”

Oliver smiles and pulls me into his arms. He places a sweet, lingering kiss on my lips. Ever since we got together, I live for those. He runs a hand through my wet hair, looking lovingly into my eyes.

This is bliss. This is how summer should be.

Rating: G
Prompt: #6 forget
Date: 07/01/06
Summary: Sick of having to obey Half-bloods and Blood-traitors Kreacher seeks help.
Character(s): Kreacher
Word Count: 170

Kreacher can’t forget the proud Blacks, the pureblooded family he had served until his Mistress passed away. He misses the days of rich comfort, of serving witches and wizards who were worthy of his efforts.

Kreacher hates that his once-beautiful home now gives shelter to tainted blood. He hates watching the trinkets and heirlooms of his Mistress thrown away, as if they were nothing more than common rubbish.

Kreacher feels better when he tells Lucius Malfoy about the unclean people in his home. The Malfoys are purebloods, after all. They are like his precious Mistress. Disobeying his Master is very wrong, but as he tells Lucius about all the horrible people and the dirty plots they devise in his house, he feels better; and Lucius seems to care.

When Kreacher goes back to Grimauld place, he doesn’t remember where he was when asked. It is easy to fake ignorance when little more is expected of you.
