Title: Let Me In
Rating: PG
Prompt: #16, Alohomora!
Date: 07/15/06
Summary: Snape won't tell Harry how he feels.
Pairing(s): Snape/Harry
Warning: mild angst

Sometimes it's like he's closed the door to himself, locked it, and thrown away the key.  I wish I could just pull out my wand, cast an alohomora, and force my way inside, but it's not that easy.  There is no forcing anything when it comes to Severus Snape.  He is too strong for that, and his walls will crush me before they lift to let me through.

"What are you afraid of?" I ask him every night as we lie together under the covers in his bed, one of my arms slung over his chest.  He shifts slightly away from me and pretends to fall asleep.  "Severus?" I venture, and he cracks open one eyelid long enough to tell me "Go to sleep, Potter."

I get frustrated with his silence, and his brooding dark eyes in the morning when the light hits us and he can see me for the boy-child that I am.  And yet he won't stop, and he won't push me away, and he won't tell me no.  But he won't tell me anything else either, and he won't kiss me first, and he won't smile at me.  It's driving me crazy.

Why won't you let me in, Severus?  "I love you," I tell him one night, breath caught in my throat so that it comes out too soft, almost not-there.  "Do you...?"

"Yes," he says, finally finally finally, and pulls me close, kisses me.  "Now go to sleep, Potter."

I go to sleep.

Title: Doesn't Hurt
Rating: G
Prompt: #21, Just a splinter
Date: 07/15/06
Summary: Luna gets a splinter, and Ginny helps take it out.
Pairing(s): Ginny/Luna
Warning: None
Notes: Part of my
ndeavor with acidpop25.

"It's just a splinter," she says, and points her finger at me so I can see the tiny piece of wood lodged in her skin.  Then she brings it close to her face and tries to pluck it out with nails of her thumb and forefinger.

"No, don't," I murmur, taking her hand.  It feels warm and the skin is soft, and there really shouldn't be a splinter anywhere on there.  It should just be her.  I study her finger, holding her hand still. "Does it hurt?"  She shakes her head and favors me with a sunny smile, and I can't help but smile back.  I take my wand and point it at her finger.  "Accio splinter," I say, and it tears out of her skin.

A tiny bead of blood, as small as a pinhead, wells from the tip of her finger.  I feel immediately contrite.  "Sorry...I made it bleed," I apologize, and she just laughs and brings the finger to her mouth to lick the spot off.

"I like it!" she exclaims.  "It's colorful.  It didn't hurt at all.  Ginny, you're smart to think of using accio."  She's looking at me with such admiration and light in her eyes, and I can't help but laugh with her.  The garden is filled with our laughter
