Fanworks, Artistic Interpretation, and Feedbacking.

This is more "fannish meta" than my normal things as it deals specifically with the fandom and not just the source text. In fact, it hardly deals with the source text at all. However, I feel it does pertain to the Harry Potter fandom and what I've found within it (and on an HP community) and thus, I'm posting it here. Or rather I was *laughs.* I decided to post this here despite the fact it uses a personal example illustrating the question, because I was hoping to spark a discussiong of when artistic license/interpretation outweighs canon. Or vice versa. And how that's effected by suspension of disbelief.

Now, after a total of two hours or so on this community, I've come to the mutually agreed decision that instead of putting the text of the discussion generator (as it's been decided this wasn't quite an essay by most standards) I would link to my journal here: Fanworks, Artistic Interpretation, and Feedbacking

Please feel free to comment there.
