Wonderful little story! Makes me long for rain, just so that I can go for a walk and jump some puddles... :-)

I really hope that her friends come around and accept that war sometimes forces you to make awful decisions and take sides. No one stays untouched by it.

I loved how Draco didn't care about his reputation at Hogwarts, but only about making her feel better, make sure she's okay. And yes, making someone smile like this is one of the best feelings in the world... :-)

Lovely. Their conversation felt very natural, twisting from light and teasing to intense and painful, then back again. Hermione's dad realising what she was going to do to him was a small part but, for some reason, particularly powerful for me. And those final lines are the best I've seen in a long time. Great job!
