2. Which death caused you the most pain?

Sirius. I cried. WTF? Even still it's hard for me to read PoA knowing he'll be dead in two books, and we don't get much time with him either. Oh yeah, and Harry never gets to live with him :(

Despite his somewhat mental instability, he's the parental figure *Harry* most wanted. The one most connected to James & Lily, the one closest to actual family.

He's got Molly fussing over him, but he hates that shit. He's not three years old and he's somewhat emotionally closed off as it is.

Dumbledore would have been good, except Harry sees him as an authority figure for the first four books and then when Harry does need him, what does he do? He ignores Harry, because Dumbledore knows what's best apparently. He's as bad as Molly in book 5 ignoring what might actually be best for Harry, v. an overprotective nature.

Lupin has far too much baggage and is not that forth coming - not like Sirius. And when Harry meets Lupin, again, teacher...position of authority.

He's overlooked, but Arthur does the best job IMO. Doesn't smother, or treat the kids like babies, gives them just enough info he feels they have a right to know for their own good, and is willing to listen.
