The Bloody Baron and the Grey Lady's relationship was definitely interesting - I didn't really like Helena though. She seemed rather haughty.
It's rather tragic that the first time we hear Crabbe and Goyle speak for themselves and stand up against Draco is during the Battle - and Crabbe loses his life for it. I really like the compassion Draco shows here though. JKR once said that Draco shuts down all compassion (I think so, right?) in him in order to become a Death Eater, but it's clear that he truly cares for his friends in an extreme situation like this, even if he did treat them like lackeys before.
Ron's concern for the elves is sweet - and it really shows how much he's matured.
Also, can I just say that I love Percy here? It's really sad that the first time we see him express any humor is before Fred's death, but it's rather fitting that Fred got to see that side of his brother and died laughing. And then Percy running off after Rookwood, who used to work in the Ministry. That's just awesome. Feel free to ignore me while I express my love for the third Weasley brother.
