Cordy knew what was coming when she saw Milla. She offered her sister a small smile and returned her hug closing her eyes for a moment. The comfort was a pleasant change from everything else she had been feeling. "I'm okay," she said simply even if it wasn't completely true. But saying it was almost a natural reflex for her when asked that question. "You?"
"Just as fine as anyone just walking out of six hours of reading on vampires can be. I even got interested in the stuff, it's frightening." She pulled back. Oh, yeah, well, natural reflex? One that Milla knew.
She pulled her sister towards one of the seats, and, despite the fact that there weren't all that many people about, was ready to cast a silencing charm about them. Nobody's business, right?
She laughed a little at the thought of her sister being interested in vampires because she couldn't think of anything more amusing at the moment.
Cordy allowed herself to be pulled and settled down into the seat, sighing before tucking her hair behind her ears. There was no point in trying to fool her sister or cover it up in any way. She didn't have to pretend to be okay for her. "Blowing off a couple of classes because I'm not motivated and spending hours alone in the Room Of Requirement cover it?" Hell, she didn't even really sound like herself anymore.
Hey! It's not like she wanted to read on vampires. We're talking NEWT's here. And, whatever else? Nobody, nobody could accuse the Diggory kids of being negligent towards their work. Even the non-Hufflepuff.
Which, come to think of it, was why missing classes - why not being motivated - got Milla to frown slightly. Not that all classes needed to be attended. But because Cordy had needed the time off. Milla completed placing the silencing charm, to ensure their privacy, put away her wand and turned fully to face her sister, taking her hand in both of hers.
"Yep, that about covers how bad it is." No, Cordy didn't need to pretend. "Did you find what you required, in the Room?"
Cordy watched as her sister worked the silencing charm remaining just that during. It's not that she really cared if anyone was listening or not, but feeding the already constant spreading rumors was not something she was interested in.
Again with her sister's hands covering hers she felt the slightest bit of comfort.
She nodded and perhaps that was a little flash in her eyes. Because the room gave her what she needed to express herself, and her art was about the only thing these days that merited a smile. "It always does."
Silence meant privacy. It just wasn't anybody's business to know who was upset, how much, and why. If anybody tried rumours on HER that involved her sister, or implicated her friends (hah, nobody really bothered, around her - so far) - she was a lion, she didn't have even an eagle's or a snake's reason to hesitate before barging in. BUT. Three Hufflepuffs in the immediate family had taught her that sometimes it was nicer for those concerned to prevent damage than to revenge it. Sometimes she even remembered that on time. Occasionally.
"Were you there all the time? Are you hungry?" Milla searched for a bit inside the pocket of her robes and dug out a packet of nuts. "I know food's not allowed in the library, but I filched this from lunch for nibbling during study time. But I didn't get hungry enough to dig into it."
She raised her hand and tucked that strand of hair that ofen got away behind her sister's ear. "Cordy... d'you want to talk about... why aren't feeling motivated?"
Cordy smiled a little more as she took the nuts. She loved how Milla's big sister instincts were always turned on high. "I don't think you're going to be expelled for having nuts in the library Milla....thank you." Opening the packet she popped one into her mouth.
Sighing again she looked out the window for a moment before turning her eyes back to her sister. "I know you've noticed how everything has changed, if not my usual 'I'm okay' would have been satisfactory enough." She bit her bottom lip and shook her head. "Everything is falling apart Milla."
"No, I didn't think it'd get me expelled either." She hadn't been expelled about it first year either, it only got her two nights of detention. Which probably nobody but Lance knew, if he remembered. Hey, if a lion's not to get detntions... right?
"I don't recall you ever answering me otherwise, not even when you're obviously physically hurt. And now you're obviously... non-physically hurt." Milla shifted closer to her sister. "'Everything' meaning you and your friends, or, ah, minor maters like what is important and what makes sense...? Or all of the above?" Patience? What, where, who?
She looked at her sister, realizing that she hadn't talked to anyone about it. She had more or less wished Leo well then fallen silent after that. Cordy hadn't responded to his letter, checked in with Aly even though she knew what his absence had to be doing to her, and she hadn't said more than five words to Brando. She could see their former lives deteriorating before her eyes and although she didn't talk about it, it was effecting her more than she had realized. At some point tears had gathered in her eyes and try as she might to hold them back, a single one rolled down her cheek. She couldn't be bothered to wipe it away as she spoke, "It's everything! It's like I've stepped into some dopplegangland. He left Milla, Leo left and it's like we can't function without him. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little angry with him for leaving, but for the love of MERLIN! Nothing anyone can do can change what has been done. It can't be rectified. If he was to come back, sure he would be here but things would never be like they were before.

Milla leaned in and wrapped her sister tight in her arms, cradling her head under her own chin. All that flood of words, kept in for how long? She brushed her thumb along Cordy's cheek to wipe the tear away. "You four were like one person, heart. It wouldn't have been you if one of you broken away didn't hurt. And unlike things that you can use a 'Reparo' on, humans are... less fixable. It could never be the same, and you're right.
"And Leo - I know you want him to be happy. But if that's why he left - he's paid the price of you for his happiness. Something for something. And you can be happy for him - but what do you get in return for the price each of you's paying?" ... Leo'd been a friend by proxy, by being so close to her sister. He used to be in her house. But as soon as the words were out of her mouth, she was... angry at him. Because of how he'd hurt Cordy

Cordy sank down into her sister's arms the tears she had held in since the day Leo had come to her house spilling over her cheeks. Milla's words had hit home. Not only were they all true, but they mirrored every last thing Cordy had kept inside for too long. "That's what it feels like, it feels like a part of me is gone. I've changed Milla in the short time it's been since...I know you've seen it..." She felt a better after letting all of it out, almost as if she could breath a little easier.
Milla held her close. Sometimes, you just to let it out, and that was fine. Though her heart ached for her, this was the most she could do. Let her cry.
"You may have changed, heart, but you're still my sister, and I love you. That won't ever budge, not if you're away or upset or different or whatever." Quietly. "Don't ever doubt that. Even if you're feeling incomplete, even if something's missing right now. It will... heal, somehow. We'll all help you, any way you need."

"Now. Just how bad is that okay?"
