Well part of the size issue visible here is silly me not making the horizontal proportional to the vertical when I resized for web viewing ^^ I will try and fix that when I've got a bit more time, or when I post for book 2. It was a silly error ,that doesn't reflect the book.
I had those layouts because to keep the text area the same. It required that that horizontal art be 1/2 in shorter than the vertical art. 20 20 hindsight in doing this last night, I realized 10X 6 would have worked and I feel dumb for not seeing it sooner but what is done is done.
What happened though was a lot of people didn't follow the template for the horizontal, and instead used the specs for the vertical.
So they incorrectly proportioned images end up about 1/2 inch smaller than the correctly proportioned one on either side.
I thought though that this was the best solution either, because otherwise, I have to crop the art, or risk part of it being cut off.
If you have any suggestion thought I would very much like to hear them because this was driving me nuts last night, and I felt so stupid for not catching it earlier. I think it affected three or so images in Book 1, I don't know yet how many for the entire project.
So umm yes, that's what is going on with layouts ^^
I just had one other thought, looking at them again. What about having the title of the chapter in italics? That would set it apart better from the rest of the text.

However! yes they horizontal artwork is a bit smaller.
The original horizontal template was this:

The vertical was this:

Here you can see:
http://www.oshinchan.com/hpartprojectart/example.jpg <--- this one is correct
http://www.oshinchan.com/hpartprojectart/example2.jpg <-- this one is not
As you can see it is to tall and extends right up until it is flush against the area left for binding.
I have to adjust those then and they look like this:

Oh, no problem then! I was just a little worried, since these looked so much smaller.

I completely agree! That's really the only thing you can do. Awesome job, hon! It's really looking great! ^.^
