Some Changes Due to Reality
Ok, I've been doing some thinking, and my thoughts confirmed by suggestions and the comments of other editors, so I'll be making a small change.
Due to the large number of open chapters and the smaller response these days, I am no longer going to worry about having two illustrations for every chapter.
How this Decisions Affects things:
1. Priorities will now be given to filling chapters that have no illustrations at all. That said, I will have to see what has been asked for and see if this works out. I'm not evil and won't randomly assign anyone something they hate. If the chapters with no artwork do not coincide with what is being requested, I'll plead... or something.
2. If there is a chapter that already has two illustrations for that chapter, I will be keeping both. I'm not cutting anyone or anything. Again, please rest assured this decision will only affect things going forward, no one will be cut from the project because of this decision, if there are two illustrations for a chapter then there are two illustrations and that is fine. On that same note, if you have more than one chapter or were assigned more than one chapter, I will honor that, and I will keep my word and open signups for people who already subitted art work.
However, I will not seek pinch hitters for chapters that are covered with at least one piece of artwork. Only if a chapter ends up with no artwork, will it get a pinch hitter.
3. I am still trying to involve as many artists as possilbe so to that end,
sign ups will not formally close until the art due date passes. If someone comes along and see the project and sees an open chapter they want, and can get it done by the deadline, they are more than welcome to it.
