Oh my good gravy on whole wheat toast...
Okay, so I've been in touch with Rock Creek Quilts for the past few weeks as the beautiful Hermione Jean kept me posted on the progress of my quilts.
Last Friday, she emailed me to tell me they are done....and Saturday morning, they were shipped off...
I was planning to go to the PO tomorrow, but we were out tonight and Mom, knowing just how to play me, got me to stop at the PO....
I had a key in my box, so I went to open it...and LO! TWO packages awaited me....
The first, a package from ofenjen. A package that I had forgotten she told me was on my way...with YARN...for the Linus Challenge...even though I have plenty. Jen, it will be put to good use and come back to you shortly!
The second package was a very large box....and I nearly imploded holding in the squee! It was my quilts! Hermione Jean musta got a fast owl because OMG....
And so, grinning like the fool I am, I lugged the packages to my car....and put them in the back with my mom...(cousin was riding in the front seat)....Mum was shocked too! Probably because I squeaked really loudly when I put it in the car.
We got to the restaurant where we were having dinner...and the box came in with us. I wouldn't even sit and look at the menu until I got the box open and everything out. I pulled Mum's quilt out first and OMG, did she freak! I had to take it from her, stand back from the table and hold it up for her to see! Then she snuggled it. It was cute!
As for me, I was making little squeally noises, but trying to control the spaz as we WERE in public...however, I may have jumped around a bit, cuddled my blanket, grinned really big and uttered several OMGs interchanged with eeks. I could barely order dinner, but I got it done...all while returning to pet my quilt often. They sat in a place of honor at the table.
We ate dinner and packed up the lovely quilts and headed back....
Then when we got home, we pulled them out again...petted some more...and squealed a few times as we noticed new things... The twins, Fredda the Hut and Georgie Boy (cats), kept trying to snuggle with mom and her quilt, but she kept denying them, not wanting to have them rip the blanket....
So, OMG, quilts! And yeah, I'm totally laying under mine right now. Tomorrow I will take it to work with me!!! :D
