1) Old receptionist fired.  New one transferred in 2 weeks ago.. goes out on vacay for 2 weeks starting Monday.  (something already planned prior to her transferring from the restaurant)  She's good and reliable and already done more since she arrived than the last one did in a month.

2) Work as slowed to a super crawl.  I'm  bored and I have 3.75 hours to go today and have no clue what I'm doing tomorrow.

3) Shelby's gone to live with her old parents.  They were missing her.  She was missing them.  Everyone is much happier now that she's back with them.  I've had an inkling since late summer she'd be going back to them.  It just took the godson a while to understand that he can't poke animals in the face.  Boeing was a bit out of sorts for  a few days, but I think he's adjusted quite nicely to being an only dog... tho, there are days I wish he had someone to roughhouse with to burn off the energy he has from time to time.

4) Boeing turned 2 on Tuesday.  He got  a new bone to chew on.

5) Foster cat/kittens doing ok.  Someone has a fetish for Boeing's bedding and keeps peeing on it... I don't know if this is a territorial thing or if someone has a UTI.  Course, I also need to know who it is to try and diagnose it... Just glad this time it's on something washable and not the carpet (KNOCK loudly on wood).

6) Dad just doesn't understand.  My car is almost 8 years old and over 100,000 miles but still runs beautifully and is paid off.  He keeps asking me when I'm getting a new one.  Apparently he has forgotten I told the sales people that I plan on running the car I buy into the ground.  Hence why I paid for a Honda over a POS big 3 American car  (sorry for any big 3 car people, we just haven't had a good experience with them.  Honda and Toyota FTW!).

7) House front:
  • had my 1st anniversary couple weeks ago.  Hard to believe I've been there over a year
  • Lawsuits are still in progress.
  • The development was foreclosed on which means all undeveloped land, unfinished homes and unsold homes are now bank owned.  However, rumor is (and so far the rumors I keep hearing are actually facts) is that some one's already in negotiations to buy the land.
  • Since it's now bank owned, the HOA management company (which was a sister company to Portrait Homes) "resigned" as our management company.  Called the bank regarding some things and was promptly told they have nothing to do with HOA and to check my paperwork regarding who is now managing it.  Yeah, paperwork says that since we haven't reached a specific percentage completed, the builder, i.e. now the bank, is the deciding factor in who the HOA is managed by.  Problem is, I don't think the bank contact knew or understood that at the time.  I'm hoping now she does since we all got a letter saying she was it.  I love legal tag.  I really do.
  • In the letter mentioned above I was told to continue to send the dues to them and they'd forward them on to the bank.  Uh, yea, why am I going to send money to a company that no longer has a vested interested in my HOA?  Yeah, too fishy for my tastes and until the bank tells me where to send my dues, no one is getting my money.
  • Never got my one year walk through.  When I finally got in touch with the "division" manager and explained what needed ot be fixed (and none of it small cosmetic things that a hammer, some spackle and paint wouldn't fix) I was told that Portrait Homes is going out of business and doesn't have the resources to fix anything but life/safety issues.  However, the good new is that I have an extended home warranty they "bought" for me when I closed on the house and that I need to contact that company.  I haven't done it yet.. I'm in fear they're going to tell me to get it fixed and send them a bill to be reimbursed in 6-8 months (or something along the lines)
  • I think I may take advantage of the whole no HOA management company thing and put up my storm door.  Usually I have to get approval for something like that through an architectural committee, but since we don't have one, I guess i don't need approval...  I'll still CMA by keeping within the guidelines of what I can put up, it's just now I don't have to wait 6 weeks to do so.
8) I go on vacation in 6 weeks.  I can't wait.  Beach here I come (tho I am dreading getting into a bathing suit...)

9) Ok, book over.  I'm sure I could write a ton more, but I think I may have some actual work to do...
