Who: Ally - Anyone who either see's or read her Journal and wants to come after her. ( CLOSED ) Where: Forbidden Forest When: Early in the morning, 6am. Notes/Warnings: None.
This was bloody mad. Al had to wonder what the hell he thought he was doing, running around in the Forbidden Forest so early in the morning. He should have gone to a Professor, hell-- he should have got to the Headmaster.
But-- Ally..
There had been no time-- he'd only just found her journal entry when he heard her leave the common room and-- what if something had happened to her? He couldn't wait! It wasn't right, it wasn't..
"..Ally?" he called out into the vastness of the forest. Dead silence met him, not even the birds were calling.
If James could see him now, he'd probably say he was doing a very Gryffindor thing.
"..AL?" The voice sounded distant. She was most likely deeper in to the forest than him but the echo had carried his voice to her.
When she heard his voice she thought for a moment that maybe the forest was playing tricks on her. She had been wandering around for some time now and began to get lost.
She wasn't even sure if he could hear her voice now as she called out. Maybe he could help her! Why she hadn't bothered to ask for his assistance in the first place ... it was then that she was cut off from her own thoughts as something grabbed her leg. It felt like a vine but she had no time to even look down as it pulled her to the ground and began yanking her across the forest floor.
Her cry made him jerk, head snapping around to search for the source. The way the echoes worked in the forest, it was like she was screaming from all directions...
"ALLY!" he called for her again, his breathing growing hard as his heart began to beat erratically.
He didn't have time to second guess, he chose a direction, and charged towards it, hand clutching his wand so hard he was surprised it didn't break.
"ALLY!" It was a miracle he'd found her, he knew this, and wasted no time; his wand-hand shot forward, a strangled cry of, "Incendio!" flying from his lips before he could even think of the curse.
A bright light came from the tip of his wand and he watched in half-horror, half-awe as the venus-flytrap-like creature recoiled and withered from the curse.
A moment passed, just watching, mesmerized, as if he couldn't quite grasp that he had done that. And then he was shaking his head, snapping himself out of his daze, and scrambling forward, reaching out to help Ally up

Ally had been meer seconds away from becoming the creatures snack. Her chest pounded with the rhythmic beat of her heart. It was hard to hear Al's voice over the sound pulsing in her ears. Tears slipped from her eyes as she launched herself at Al and threw her arms around him.
"IT WANTED TO EAT ME!" She said as if this was news to him as much as it was to her. She pulled back from the hug her eyes wide as ever. "Bloody hell Al it wanted to EAT me!!" She hugged him again repeating the words ' thank you ' about a million times.
After finally calming down a bit she let him go from her death grip and leaned against a tree. "Kat.. she could have.. what if that blasted thing..?" Her eyes scanned the area for anything that could have clued her in to if Kat had been there or not. Letting her head drop slightly she put both hands over her head.
"What was I thinking? Even if I did find Kat.. what was I going to do?! I couldn't even stop myself from being plant food! I knew a million ways to get out of that bloody mess but.. I

Al blinked, thrown back from the entirety of the situation, from all the words, from all the hysterics.
He wanted to say of course the bloody thing wanted to eat her, everything in this forest probably does, and she was bloody crazy for going out here on her own like she did
( ... )
His voice chilled her to the bone. When he said those words she already knew, she looked up with a pained expression.
"I know we do." There was this lingering 'but' at the end of her sentence that she dared to add. Pushing herself off of the ground she wavered on her wobbling knees before shaking her head. "I can't. I'm almost to the place Kat and Nigel met the Centaur. If I don't at least look there for her.. I mean.. this whole thing would be null!" She rose her arms a little even if they stung to show her point

(( Ally needed her closure. Pls don't hate me. ::apologizes profusely for stepping on toes and such:: ))
Galen exhaled a heavy sigh as he stepped out of the copse of trees he'd mostly hidden himself in. He had thought patrolling for students would be an easy job. None would come, Hagrid had assured him. They know it's off limits, he'd insisted.
For this being an off limits place, Galen was seeing a fair share of students. "You shouldn't be here," he intoned gravely as his eyes shifted between the two students.
He'd been fortunate enough to have met Katrina the night prior, before she'd gotten in too deep. Tearful and sad, she'd explained to him that she was leaving, and whatever favor he needed, to please not make it too hard on Nigel, because Nigel was really great and wonderful. He'd been moved a little by her tears, but not much. The tears of humans meant very little to one such as him.
"I know not if she spoke of me," Galen pointed out coolly as he approached the pair - slowly though. "Katrina did come to bid me farewell last evening."
Gazing imperiously down at them, Galen tilted his head toward the entrance. "I will show you out." Not, of course, out of the goodness of his heart, but because the others were far more dangerous than he was - and they didn't take kindly to human foals trafficking in their woods.
Ally was about to agree to be led out when she heard something crash behind her and Al.
Then it hit her. A smell so foul that she almost lost her dinner from last night. It smelt as if a cross between her father's gym socks and.. when her Uncle Carl broke the toilet that one Thanksgiving.
Turning her eyes toward the sound as she covered her mouth, she noticed tree's falling. Talking through her hand towards the Centaur.
"Is that normal?" She felt stupid but that had to be a good question for the Forbidden Forest. There was no time to answer before a roar was let out from the direction.
"TWIIGGGEEIR.." It bellowed. Then more loud noises that sound like howls and screams erupted from that one. As Ally took a few steps closer the sight before her froze her to the spot
( ... )
Galen was ... alarmed. The trolls didn't usually venture so close to the edge, preferring to keep more to the middle.
He pulled out his bow, fitting an arrow into it before he whistled shrilly. The others shouldn't be too far away - some would be patrolling as well. He whistled again to let his fellow centaurs know it was an urgent matter before he started to move.
Surrounded as they were though, he wasn't sure which way to look first, and there wasn't any way he could keep himself between the children and all the trolls. "Stay close to me," he ordered them, because it was the best he could do.
"Stay back," he ordered the trolls, his bowstring pulled taut as he shifted the aim of his arrow toward whichever seemed most threatening at any given moment. "They meant you no harm. They are but foals, innocents among us. Stay back, let them leave in peace."
...Galen wasn't stupid enough to think they'd listen, but it was his attempt to buy some time.
All throughout her 'lecture,' he stared at her. Watched her, watched her turn into this person he didn't even recognize, someone with spine, someone...
Someone he desperately wanted to be.
And yet he was angry. Angry at her for assuming she knew how he ticked, angry at her for getting it right.
He'd opened his mouth. He wanted to yell. He wanted to scream at her for being able to see right through him-- but then the centaur arrived and then.. the troll.
His hand shot out, gripping her wrist so tight it hurt, it should have hurt.
"If we get out of her alive," he murmured between then, "remind me to pay more attention in my Care Of class."
And then he was twisting around and running, dragging her along by her hand. He had no idea where he was going, but he was counting on the same dumb luck that had gotten him to her to get them out.
She winced. It did hurt, but she deserved it. At least that's what she told herself. She had hurt Al or at least made him very angry. And not to mention this whole problem was HER fault!
"He just said-!" She tried to respond that the Centaur had clearly told them to stay behind him. But Al wasn't listening now, he was running and pulling her along. Little did he know he was pulling them both deeper and deeper in to the forest.
The Leader of the Troll's grew furious at the Centaur who had the nerve to speak to him in such a way! Forest Troll's had a little more brain power than their cousins the Mountain Trolls. He furrowed his great big brow and slammed his trunk on the ground.
"MOVE CENTAR. HUMAN KEL PET. THAY PAY!!! OLD 'NUFF TA KEL, OLD NUFF TA DY!!Some how Al and Ally had slipped between one of the Trolls earlier when Al had pulled her away. But now the Leader roared with anger sending the pack after them
( ... )
Du could hear the commotion in the distance and turned to try and follow where the sounds were coming from. He held a military dagger in one hand and his wand in the other.
Ally and Al didn't see him before they heard him, his voice boomed through the racket.
"Petrificus Totalus!"
Behind the two, one of the trolls' bodies went rigid and he was unable to keep chasing.
"Shit," he swore to himself, "shit shit shit shit shit shit shit--!"
He ran as fast as his legs could carry him. He could feel the vibrations on the ground beneath them, jostling them, making it harder to keep upright as they ran. He could hear hooves against the earth, more than one set now, the centaurs-- maybe they'd come to help..?
But he wasn't going to bet his life or Ally's on it. Despite the anger, despite the bubbling self-hate and bitterness, he knew they had to get out of there; the feelings were pushed back, in the corner of his mind, saved to be revisited later. Now he had to think, just think.
There was a horrifying crash behind them-- one of the giants must've uprooted a tree. He could hear the sickening crack, feel it coming down, likely to land on them any minute--
He twisted, wand thrust out. "PROTEGO!!" Blinding white light erupted from his wand, enveloping them. He didn't stop run, continued to pull Ally along even as he cast the spell. He couldn't see what was happening behind-- was it the wrong spell
( ... )
Was that Dureau's voice? She couldn't see him but she felt the rumble of the tree falling along with the Troll. Everything was a blur. The spell that left Al's wand, running. Apparently people were there to help..she was confused and over all else.. she felt hurt.
This was all her fault. She hadn't thought this through properly. Kat wasn't here. And now because of her people were in danger.. Al looked horribly angry.. her mind was flooding with so many different things at once that she hadn't been watching where she was going.
Her foot hit a out-grown tree root causing her to fly forward face first in to the earth. Her hand had slipped from Al's at that moment. As she pulled herself off the ground she only had enough time to jump sideways dodging an attack from one of the Trolls.
Her mind was reeling.
All my fault. All my fault. ALL MY FAULT.Tears were streaming down her face as she lifted her wand and with an angry voice screamed

On instinct she jumped in front of Al and held her wand up. Even though her arm was shaking.
"..W..who are you? Are you the one Kat spoke of?"
