Dammit, Janet - Full Version

Feb 21, 2006 15:20

Challenge: #146, Songfics
Characters: Sirius Black, James Potter, Remus Lupin
Notes: I... got a little carried away with this idea and couldn't fit it all in the drabble, so here's the longer version. Enjoy! (Clearly the song is from Rocky Horror Picture Show)

Clearing his throat and adjusting his tie, Sirius grinned for just a moment before spinning abruptly and launching into song. "The river was deep, but I swam it."

"Janet," James added, glancing over his shoulder from where he was attempting to fix his hair before a mirror.

"The future is ours, so let's plan it!"

"Janet," James repeated, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

"So please, don't tell me to can it."

"Janet."

"I've one thing to say, and that's Dammit, Janet- I love you!" Sirius crooned, extending his arms to the victim he had decided to serenade. "The road was long, but I ran it!"

"Janet." James had come over to stand behind Sirius, really enjoying the charade now.

"There's a fire in my heart, and you fan it," he insisted, clasping his hands over his chest. "If there's one fool for you, then I am it."

"Janet."

"I've one thing to say, and that's Dammit, Janet, I love you!" Sirius sang, linking arms with James and dancing round with him before turning back and dropping to one knee. "Here's the ring to prove that I'm no joker... There's three ways that love can grow: that's good, bad or mediocre- J-A-N-E-T I love you so!"

Both Sirius and James stared expectantly at their companion, expecting the part of Janet to be supplied. Instead, what they got was a heavy sigh. "Look, that's all well and good, chaps, but how am I to explain to Lily that she had to wait at the altar because you two were making arses of yourselves?"

James pouted and slunk off to continue the never ending battle with his hair, while Sirius looked crestfallen. "Always the Prefect, Moony."

"I'm sure at least James will thank me later when he doesn't have to sleep on the couch on his wedding night," was Remus' prim reply. "As for you, well, you're hopeless."

Somehow, this seemed to cheer Sirius up.
