One of Hermione’s greatest pleasures when she first discovered she was a witch was writing. With long weeks stretching ahead of her until she would head off to Hogwarts, her parents had gently parted her from her new wand before she ended up setting her bed covers on fire. Still she had her schoolbooks, some parchment and needed to learn to write with a quill.
She filled the rolls easily with notes from her reading, her handwriting improving as she went. The smooth flow of the ink, the scratch of the quill against parchment; opening a doorway into another world.
