It was hard. Being the same.
Never an individual.
Not by himself.
Their names were strung together like daisies in a chain.
One after the other.
It was just how it was.
But now...
It was worse.
He'd lost his ear when he could have lost his life.
But now he'd lost his brother.
And every thought of being One.
Every hope of alone.
Had disappeared.
Two was now one.
And he was now a half.
He couldn't blame anybody.
Not for that.
But what hurt most.
Was the jokes.
Because everytime he made one.
There was another left unsaid.

"Well what happens to the boy now?" Marge cried. Several people turned. They were out having coffee. Big mistake.
"Marge, I don't know." Vernon sighed, exasperated. "He can do whatever he damn well wants."
"Vernon, you do realise that with this kind of attitude you are going to end up with a relative doing time?"
Marge twisted the delicate cup between her fingers. Long Black. Strong.
"Marge, the boy's an adult. And you are my sister. That is all. Would you please for the love of God stop mothering me?"
Vernon drained the last of his drink. Espresso. Double.

She dragged the pen across the paper in a curling scrawl. What did it matter?
The stupid girl was just in for trouble.
Do you suppose I could try some Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans?
She was always the one making the mess. Breaking the plates.
And Petunia always had to clean up after her.
Are you still learning to change beetles into buttons? Or have you progressed?
The special one, the one everybody fawned over.
Simply because she had received a letter in the mail and Petunia hadn't. She scowled.
I miss you. You'll always be my sister.

"Did you see him?"
"Uh huh, yep I saw him."
"Pretty cool, huh?"
"Awesome."
"Do you think he saw us?"
"He might have."
"You think?"
"Well if he had super-vision."
"I wouldn't be surprised. This is Harry Potter."
"Harry Potter can do practically ANYTHING."
"Except scream like a boy. I saw him once having a nightmare. He screams like a girl."
"You saw him having a nightmare?!"
"Pretty cool, huh?"
"Mega cool!"
"And he can't drink milk."
"I'm giving up dairy."
"So am I."
"Do you think he likes us?"
"Sometimes."
"When he doesn't know we're following him?"
"Yeah, then."
